Joel
Blasingame
joelblasingame@wscoc.org
Joel and wife Darla (Tarbet) married in June 1974. They have three sons – Brad, Travis, Toby - and two wonderful daughters-in-law - Wendy (Rich) and Melissa (Vann). Brad, Wendy and two sons Brayden and Garrett live near Dallas and are involved at the Saturn Road church of Christ. Travis and Melissa, son TJ and daughter Kaitlyn are active members here at Westside. Toby resides in Waco and is a restaurant manager. December, 1998 the Blasingames moved to Cedar Park, placing their membership at Westside early 1999. They have been especially active in Bible education. Darla has worked with the cradle roll/toddlers and Joel served as one of the deacons of adult education. June 2005 marked the beginning of his service as elder for the Westside congregation. Joel firmly believes the church must be built on the foundation of the apostles with Jesus Christ as chief cornerstone. There is one body and all Christians must bear with one another in love endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace while striving toward the goal of spreading the gospel to our families, community, country and the world.

Kit
B'Smith
kitbsmith@wscoc.org
Kit was born and bred in Miami,Florida. He was baptized into Christ in November, 1972, at the Miami Gardens church of Christ after listening to the gospel being preached by Richard Rogers. He met Carolyn Lynette Rose, who hails from Pulaski, TN, while attending David Lipscomb University. They married on December 15, 1979. Kit and Carolyn have two children: Leah, who currently serves as a licensed social worker with Agape in Huntsville, AL, and Andy, who is a business major at Oklahoma Christian University. Kit had the pleasure of baptizing both his children into Christ.
Kit and Carolyn are educators. Kit currently teaches math at Pflugerville Middle School and Carolyn is currently teaching 3rd grade at Brentwood Christian School. They live in Austin, TX.
Kit and Carolyn believe strongly in the power of the gospel that Jesus is “…the Way, the Truth, and the Life…” They find both humility and strength in God’s redemptive work in Christ and they know no greater love. They firmly believe that God’s Word is not only relative for today’s world, but that its power can still penetrate the darkness of man’s sinfulness and transform hearts, minds, and lives. They know that the scriptures reflect the wisdom of God and His righteousness, holiness, and truth.

Floyd Odom
floydodom@wscoc.org
Floyd and his wife Madge were married in Tennessee June 26, 1967. Both attended Abilene Christian University, as well as their two children, David and Allison. Floyd and Madge will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary this year. As a teenager, Floyd became a Christian. After becoming an adult, he served as a deacon in the Church at two separate congregations before coming to Westside Church of Christ, where he has served as an elder for seven years. He has seen Westside Church of Christ grow from approximately 100 Christians without a permanent facility to what it is today. In addition to his serving as an elder in the Church, Floyd has been employed as an administrator in the Austin Independent School District, and will begin his 40th year as an educator in the fall of 2000. As an elder, Floyd serves with four other men. He firmly believes that we are to glorify God "in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end." As one studies the scriptures, it is increasingly clear that the Church of Jesus Christ has an identity in the New Testament. It is our duty as believers and Christians to follow the established pattern. As Paul declared in 1 Corinthians, "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." At Westside Church of Christ, we are committed to preserving the identity of the New Testament Church.
