Casa Sonrisa
The mission of Casa Sonrisa is to care for needy Mexican children. We have been doing this for several years. Cottages # 1, #2, and #3 have over three dozen children, several of whom have been with us for more than seven years. The children are receiving loving care in a Christian environment.
Casa Sonrisa is unique in Mexico in several ways. One way is that we use the cottage system as opposed to the dormitory setup. Each cottage has its own Christian house parents. Thus far we have been able to operate with volunteer help in all areas except the house parents and their household help.
Casa Sonrisa is a legal non-profit organization in both the U. S. A. and Mexico. Contributions are tax deductible. Our taxpayer identification number is 74-2656238. Our nonprofit tax return can be viewed at www.guidestar.org. We send a letter of acknowledgment for every contribution received.
This benevolent work is under the oversight of the elders of the Westside Church of Christ. They are the legal trustees of Casa Sonrisa. An operations committee composed of about a dozen members of the congregation regularly reviews progress and plans for the growth of the work.
