| Tony Thornock Tony was
born in Ontario, Oregon and grew up on a dairy farm in Emmett,
Idaho. After High School in 1963, he went to school in Denver,
Colorado where he met his best friend, Joanne Foster. They
married in 1966 as Tony started his electrical engineering
career with IBM. Tony graduated from Regis College with a BS in
Technical Management and minors in Sociology and Economics. They
had two children, Marece and Ty. Joanne began attending Ladies
Bible Class at the Longmont, Colorado Church of Christ where she
and Tony were baptized into Christ in 1970. At the Longmont
congregation, Tony served as deacon over several ministries and
as an elder before IBM moved them to Austin, Texas in 1990. They
found the Westside Church of Christ, a little startup
congregation that was committed to holding to the Word, and
placed their membership with them. Tony retired from IBM in 1996
and is currently working for IBM as a Senior Software
Consultant. He served as deacon at Westside for several years
and began serving as elder in 2000. Tony and Joanne are blessed
with two children who are faithful in the Word and raising their
families in the church. Marece and her husband Cameron have a
three-year-old daughter, Malynn, and just gave birth to twins,
Alexander and Alayna. Ty and his wife Ann have one daughter,
Nicole, and are expecting their second daughter in March of
2002.
Tony and Joanne are faithful Christian believers of the Word
as laid out in the New Testament. They believe that everyone
can live righteous lives if they desire to follow Christ.
It’s a simple process to hear the Word, believe in it,
confess Christ, repent of their sins, and be baptized
for the remission of their sins and follow after Him.
In this manner, they will receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit, which will dwell in them and help them find their
way.
